1.  Doug Kinson has NO municipal leadership experience; Kinson has NEVER served on ANY City of Maitland citizen advisory boards such as “planning and zoning”, or “parks and recreation” nor did  Kinson ever make an application to serve on one of those boards.

2.   Kinson has taken millions of dollars and four and a half years of taxpaying citizens of Maitland’s money and built absolutely NOTHING in our downtown. NO FIRESTATION, NO CITY HALL, NO DOWNTOWN, nothing accomplished in Maitland while Doug Kinson was in office.

3.  Doug Kinson has been irrationally loyal to potential developer’s desires when Kinson has been advised by the very citizen advisory boards which he NEVER served on to act and vote differently. Both the Maitland Planning and Zoning Board and the CRA Board studied several different downtown development issues, sent recommendations to the Mayor and Kinson decided to act and vote in exact opposite of those very citizen advisory boards advice.

4.  Kinson has voted to RAISE the citizens of Maitland millage and taxes every single time the issue of taxes came before him.

5.  Doug Kinson is responsible for and voted to approve the largest tax increase in the 125 year history of Maitland with his approval of the Storm Water Utility Tax.

6.  Doug Kinson pushed through an $ 800,000, yes EIGHT HUNDRED THOUSAND dollars contract for more design and consulting for the new city hall which raises the total monies paid to one company to over 3 million dollars just for design and consulting services of the city hall and fire station which has still not been built. And is continuing to spend money with this very same company  on a proposed 80 percent scale model because we DO  NOT have enough money to build what Kinson just paid this company to design.

7.  One day after the signatures were in place on the contract for 800,000 dollars to this company, the ink was not even dry; Mayor Doug Kinson accepted thousands and thousands of dollars of donations for his campaign for Orange County Commissioner directly from the officers, the spouses and family members of the firm which received this 800,000 dollar contract.

8.  Kinson continues to thumb his nose at Maitland citizen’s requests for public records which are to be provided to citizens under the Sunshine Laws of the State Of Florida. Kinson refuses to provide these public records as requested and demanded by law.

9.  Kinson has a reported income of approximately 50,000 dollars per year according to his Orange County Election filings. How did Kinson pay off both his first and second mortgage recently? Where did the money come from? Which preferred vendor or real estate developer gave Kinson the money under the table to pay off these mortgages?

10. Kinson is a quitter, YES Kinson is a quitter, and he is quitting the seat of mayor in the City Of Maitland to which he has pledged his undying allegiance right in the middle of the City of Maitland’s most critical times in the past 50 years. Maitland is millions of dollars in debt, the downtown and public city building have NOT been built and Kinson quits his post as mayor.  KINSON IS A QUITTER! KINSON IS A QUITTER!  KINSON IS A QUITTER!

11. Kinson has a serious history of being drunk and did NOT disclose his public drunkenness during any election for public office, nor has he ever admitted his wrongdoing for driving while drunk and putting your children and families at risk due to his drunkenness. According to police reports Kinson refused to take a breathalyzer test and FAILED the field sobriety test, Kinson had no wallet or shoes and reeked of alcohol according to the police.
